The Wednesday jam has moved from the Temple Bar to the rather elegant (but still no cover) Deanza Hotel's Hedley Club on West Santa Clara. The time is now 7 - 10 pm and the house band is quite good. Mostly Real Book stuff.

The Sunday jam has moved from Mission City to Blue Rock Shoot in Saratoga, still 4- 6:30.

Wednesdays and Thursdays, my personal favorite for vocalists is the jam at Arthur's Restaurant in Santa Clara (just south of 101 off Bowers). It now runs 7:30 to 11:30. Mark Richard runs the show in the cozy lounge area. You can bring charts, and the most popular standards are usually played by ear in most keys. Fridays 8-12 is a dinner/dance affair which also welcomes sit-in guests.

Just got this email from Mark regarding the listing for wednesdays and thursdays at Arthur's--

Dear Friends and Family,

Arthur's is discontinuing music on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This is the last week, so, if you can stop by and sing one last time, please do.
To some, it may not be a surprise as business hasn't been stellar and then with the financial meltdown it's been abysmal.
The Halloween party will go on as planned, so We hope to see you Friday.
I will keep everyone informed and as soon as I know more I'll email you.
