If you're on a PC, check the other members' profiles and see if they have a lot of audio clips, ask them if they're using a PC, and ask for help--that would be your best bet. Or, make friends with someone closeby who's got a Mac. (If someone sends me info on how to rip a CD on a PC, especially using free, widely available software--does anyone use Roxio anymore?--I'll happily post the instructions here.)
1. Choose iTunes > Preferences and click Import Settings.
2. Choose MP3 Encoder from the Import Using pop-up menu.
3. Choose Custom from the Setting pop-up menu. In the dialog that appears, choose settings:
a) Stereo Bit Rate: The higher the Mono or Stereo kilobits per second (Kbps), the higher the audio quality, but the larger the file size.
b) Variable Bit Rate Encoding (VBR): This setting varies the number of bits used to store the music depending on the complexity of the music. A lower bit rate can keep file size to a minimum.
c) Sample Rate: Choose Auto
d) Channels: Choose Auto
