When you're uploading the audio files, you'll need to navigate to where they are.
On a Mac, your iTunes audio files--which you just imported from CD--are usually on the hard drive in the Users folder/yourname folder (icon looks like a house)/Music folder/iTunes folder. The tunes are sorted into folders by artist name (yours).
Oops, I forgot to answer your question about uploading music clips. Make sure they're in mp3 format.
If you have a Mac with iTunes, import your track(s) into iTunes after you have set the iTunes preferences below. If you're on a PC, asking one of the musicians on the network who's posted a bunch of tracks and uses a PC will probably be your best bet.
Choose iTunes > Preferences and click Import Settings.
Choose MP3 Encoder from the Import Using pop-up menu.
Choose Custom from the Setting pop-up menu. In the dialog that appears, choose settings:
Stereo Bit Rate: The higher the Mono or Stereo kilobits per second (Kbps), the higher the audio quality and the larger the file size.
Variable Bit Rate Encoding (VBR): This setting varies the number of bits used to store the music depending on the complexity of the music. This can help keep file size to a minimum.
Sample Rate: Choose Auto
Channels: Choose Auto
THEN, under the Music section of your page, click the plus sign (+) and follow the instructions.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes. I check back here about twice a week.
Hi Kraig,
Try this free online photo editing tool, Picnik at http://www.picnik.com/. I found it quite easy to upload a photo and mess with it. Then you can save the result and change your profile photo here.
Hi Kraig,
Welcome to sfjazz.ning! Your photo looks like an album cover. Will you be posting audio clips and letting us know where your album is available? I hope you enjoy this space.
